I love spur of the moment cons trips! Always full of adventure…even though this con was only in Philly. But I heard a few people talking about J1 Con via social media outlets, and decided to attend it when Chibi asked me! I could not say no! Small cons are avery nice, they often feel more relaxed and chilled compared to bigger ones. This was no different.
The con though was very small, pretty much one floor in a community center. With that in consideration, the dealer's room and artist alley was just as small too. The artist alley was nice, very talented artist, plus a decent stock in the dealer's room. One thing I must complain about was there was an autograph for…a specific voice actor….that cut right down the middle of the dealer's room/artist alley that made it difficult to move around. Then again, I'm sure they did not plan for this size crowd.
Sadly we did not look into any panels that were there. But I must say, that for a first year one day con, it was very nice. Again, those that put this together should feel very pleased. I hope this con takes off in the future, and becomes a nice big t con in Philly…maybe someday…maybe someday!
